Finally Disney unveiled the new trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of evil (viewable at the top of the article), second chapter that will further explore the difficult relationship between the future queen and the protagonist Maleficent.
In the original 2014 film (which achieved great acclaim from both audiences and critics) we saw the numerous events that “transformed” the heart of one of Disney's antagonists, to the point of casting a curse on the young Princess. In this new chapter which is set a few years later, in addition to showing us the constant changes and relationship problems between the two protagonists (Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning), we will see new alliances being formed to face new adversaries and protect the moor and all the creatures that populate it.
The second chapter will be directed by Joachim Rønningt (author of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge).
Among the most important new faces we will find a new "bad" that will be the Queen Ingrith played by Michelle Pfeiffer. We will also see other cast members on the big screen such as actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange, 12 Years a Slave), Ed Skrein (Deadpool, Game of Thrones), Robert Lindsay (My Family, Wimbledon) and Harris Dickinson (Darkest Minds, Trust) who plays Prince Philip.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will arrive in theaters on 17 October 2019.
