Alan Moore, famous cartoonist, writer, composer and songwriter, genius and undisputed recklessness that allowed him to achieve considerable success in many of the fields in which he specialized, such as comics, poetry and novels, (Watchmen and V for Vendetta just to name a couple), is also known, unfortunately, for the "lively" not exactly idyllic, arid character of his work to the point of prohibiting every single film or television adaptation that is based on one of his creations or not even wanting appear in the credits of such works.
Watchmen, a comic series he created and is about to come out as HBO TV series written by Damon Lindelof and which will serve as a sequel to his work done in the 80s, it certainly hasn't gone unnoticed in Moore's head. At a Television Critics Association event, addressing the programming president HBO Casey Bloys, he was asked if Moore was "sorry" to say the least about this adaptation. Bloys' response was simply:
“I think he hasn't moved that much. I wouldn't call him thrilled by the idea. "
In contrast, the Watchmen designer Dave Gibbons who is credited as a consultant on the TV series, spoke positively about this sequel directed by Lindelof:
"I find Damon's approach incredibly fresh, exciting and unexpected"
