Intel has released some details related to new 11th generation desktop Core CPUs, thus leaving open a possible official launch date scheduled for March 2021. The code name of this new family of processors is precisely "Rocket Lake" and, as per the post on the blog ofcompany, would appear to be available starting next year. At the moment though no further information has been released regarding compatibility with other hardware or, more in detail, technical specifications of this 11th generation of Intel processors. The same vice president of the company, John bonini said further details would be disclosed in the future.
It is currently widely expected that Rocket Lake will still be based on Intel's current manufacturing process a 14 nanometers (nm) and will use a new micro-architecture known as Willow Cove, which marks a long-awaited departure from Skylake microarchitecture by Intel. However, however, whatever the type of process used for the production of this new type of processors, the Intel architecture will finally be back in line with its biggest rival, AMD, also introducing support. PCIe 4.0 to the mix. This support, however, had to be already present starting from the tenth generation but was withdrawn just before the official launch; it is for this reason that some Z49 motherboards0 support (technically speaking) PCIe 4.0 at the moment, but none of them are actually capable of using it.
Il software support it is also of vital (if not fundamental) importance for both the pre-launch and post-launch of the games. The company in fact follows the developers both in the optimization and in the debugging of the major titles thanks to a dense network of worldwide partnerships.
