While it has been concerned about the computing power supply of the next generation consoles, whether it be PlayStation or division Xbox, AMD luckily it has not lost sight of its main focus, which is why through its new event it has introduced a new family of processors to the world. Let's talk about Ryzen 5000, CPU designed to compete in every respect with Intel competition, which has recently given life to its latest series Rocket Brine, detailed in the following text. For those who follow this world, the figure "5000" could be rather ambiguous, as after the Ryzen 3000 the company has decided to adapt to the numbers dedicated to its video cards to stay in line with the latter, thus skipping the 4000 series.
So what are we talking about specifically? Of 5 new processors, based on the new architecture It was 3, which this time are designed to give the best both in the field of multi-core - already the strong point of the company - and of IPC (Istructions for Cycle). We therefore find products specifically aimed at the world of gaming as well as productivity, which therefore do not want to miss anything. Let's see together the new gems of the Ryzen 5000 series in question, which will all make their debut on the day of November 5 2020.
- AMD Ryzen 9 5950X: 16 cores and 32 threads, first member of the family with base frequency starting from 3,4 GHz up to a maximum of 4,9 GHz, with 72MB of Cache and a TPD of 105W. The price is set at $ 799 (excluding tax)
- AMD Ryzen 9 9500X: 12 cores and 24 threads with 3,7 GHz to 4,8 GHz base frequency, 70MB of Cache and a TDP of 105W. The price is $ 549 (excluding tax)
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X: 8 cores and 16 threads, with a base frequency of 3,8 GHz to 3,8 GHz, 36MB of Cache and a TDP of 105W. The price is set at $ 449 (excluding tax)
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600X: 6 cores and 12 threads, 3,7GHz to 4,6GHz base frequency, 35MB cache, an integrated Wraith Stealth heatsink and a 65W TDP. The price is $ 299 (excluding tax)
The compatibility of the new processors is unfortunately relegated only to motherboards B450, B550, X470 e X570, and it will be enough update the BIOS to fully support all new models. However, for the 400 series the update is not yet ready and it seems it will be necessary to wait at least until January next year, it is also specified that it is a one-way ticket, and therefore it will not be possible to return to previous versions after having finalized the update.
