HP has in fact announced that it is serious about acquiring HyperX, the division dedicated to the gaming peripherals sector of Kingston Technologies. The news takes on really important connotations not only for the amount that the American giant would be willing to put on the plate (approx 425 million dollarsi) but also for the implications that this would entail on the gaming peripheral market. Hyper X is in fact one of the main companies in this sector, thanks to highly appreciated product families ranging from keyboards to headsets, from mice to microphones.
The possibility of being able to count on a know-how and technologies in an industry as important as peripherals is considered to be of crucial importance to HP, which already produces accessories under the brand Omen. In fact, the gaming peripherals sector has been growing for some time and, according to several analysts, by 2024, could reach the share of 12.2 billion dollars. The possibility of being able to play a key role within this context is the motivation that would have prompted HP to acquire HyperX which, according to what emerged on the net, should be completed and completed within second quarter of this year. Kingston Technologies, however, will continue to produce products for gamers such as SSDs, memories and other accessories, which have always been the company's core business.
