Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has acquired Reflector Entertainment, Montreal-based software house that recently announced the video game Unknown 9: Awakening, from Lune Rouge Innovation. According to the communication from the well-known Japanese company, the acquisition would be aimed at increasing the quantity of content coming from outside Japan. Reflector Entertainment was founded in 2016 by Alexandre Amancio e Lune Rouge, focusing on building "Storyworlds", with which people can interact on a wide variety of media, including video games, novels, podcasts, films and more. Additionally, according to Amancio's recent statements, the acquisition by Bandai Namco will allow the studio to enjoy a "great long-term perspective", offering endless entertainment possibilities. Finally, the president of Lunge Rouge, Robert Blain, he added:
We believe this acquisition will allow Reflector Entertainment to deepen its transmedia vision to build extraordinary journeys, expanding the work already done on the Unknown 9 franchise and other projects. According to what emerged, the transaction for the acquisition of the Canadian development team is expected to close in fourth quarter of the 2020, and will see Alexandre Amancio as the new chief creative officer of Reflector Entertainment, and will work alongside Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe's Vice President of Content, Herve Hoerdt, who in turn will manage his own transition as CEO.
