Netflix has given us strong emotions over time: The terrifying adventures of Sabrina it was one of those series that was able to bewitch us, bringing with it the nostalgia effect of the past but radically changing the cards on the table. With the advent of the second season, or should we say "part 2" as Netflix has pointed out, will the "terrifying" Sabrina be able to bewitch us once again?
The Book of the Beast
We left our heroine in a complex phase of her life: the signing of the Book of the Beast, the pact that the young witch has sealed with the church of the night and the break with her boyfriend; all important events that left their mark on the young witch's life, to the point that after the Christmas special - which we advise you to recover if you missed it - we find ourselves with one Sabrina different, more brazen, slightly more provocative, almost as if she wanted to underline the transition from girl to woman.
The other characters are no less: in fact we will find Harvey struggling with a really important emotional growth (new love on the way or backfire with Sabrina?), Susie she will be intent on fully exploring her "different" sexuality while Caution he will seek the approval of his biological father, the head of the Church of the Night Father Blackwood intent as always to try to take more and more power and not lose it, given that Sabrina has plans of her own for the future of the Church. We can not reveal anything else without spoiling the surprises, but know that there will be crazy races in the woods and kisses stolen in the moonlight, as well as demons and spells. Rest assured, it will be fun!
Consistent and scratchy
The terrifying adventures of Sabrina part 2 is a season consistent with the previous one: it seems that the protagonists have never left the set, allowing the viewer to live that experience that almost seems to tell him that he is about to "see old friends again". Kiernan Brennan Shipka is perfect: she managed to change the face of the little witch we have known for centuries, transforming and remodeling her first into a girl who did not know what she wanted, arriving to this day, a grown up and young witch aware of her powers and of what perhaps she has always been his fate. Tati Gabrielle, transformer who gave us a treacherous one Caution in the first season, here she reveals herself as fragile and emotional, initially looking for a direction, but then suddenly managing to transform her character as well, allowing us to explore him better. Ross Lynch in the role of Harvey he is at first a bit uncertain, after all his character is going through a difficult time. When we begin to think that we would have expected something more from him, here he recovers very well, giving us a man and no longer a boy prey to events.
Fulfill your own destiny
The terrifying adventures of Sabrina continue smoothly in this second part, which has given us slightly darker moments than the previous one: here more demons appear and definitely more spells and curses, stuff that our Sabrina is learning more and more to use, to the point that it seems to be she really is the head of the family now, putting her aunt in the background Zelda and aunt Hilda who seem to no longer know how to take the young woman. The air you breathe in this second act is that of a fulfillment, as if theand Sabrina's father's predictions were coming true: it is clear, there are still many questions that will be revealed and many are the questions that Sabrina and the others ask themselves. Certainly if the series continues - and we hope it will - we would like to see our little witch's fate come true, be this for good or for bad. The second part leaves that sweet / bitter taste to the viewer, as if on the one hand it answers many questions, on the other it raises new ones.
