Xbox recently showed during theInside Xbox the reveal trailer for TheMedium. The clip, which you can conveniently find on the cover, as well as showing us some gameplay scenes taken from the new work of Bloober Team (creators of Blair Witch, Observer and Layers of Fear), reveals the particularly evocative locations of Krakow in the 80s, all accompanied by an enveloping and noteworthy soundtrack, created by Akira Yamaoka, known for working on the Silent Hill franchise.
The Medium it will allow us to commute between the world of the living and that of the dead, taking on the role of the medium Marianne, a medium haunted by visions, living and interacting in two worlds: the real world and the spiritual one. Nothing is as it seems, everything has another side. As a medium with access to both worlds, you have a broader perspective and can see more clearly that there is no simple truth for what others perceive. Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, said at the conference:
Each of our games has a central theme that drives its creative and technological design. In The Medium, we focus on perspective and perception. When you change your point of view, you find that things are more complicated and nuanced than you initially thought. The Medium is our most ambitious game ever and we can't wait to show you how we're translating this vision into psychological horror.
The inclusion of legendary Akira Yamaoka - best known for her work in the Silent Hill franchise - is a dream come true. We have been inspired by many of the previous games he has worked on and are thrilled to bring a new one to life with the medium.
