The remake of Resident Evil 3 was released a few days ago PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This is the sequel - figuratively - of Leon and Claire's adventure, but it seems that Capcom have plans in mind for the saga, which has had a modernization thanks to the new proprietary graphics engine of the software house, called RE Engine and a game design adapted to the "present day". There have been gods rumor concerning a probable remake of Code Veronica X, but it was later discovered that the title it was not even considered as a possible new video game.
Yet it seems that Capcom has had an afterthought, and wants to know through a survey if the gamers would buy a new remake for the franchise that marked the history of the videogame medium. The question was found and shared by a user of ResetERA, whose nickname is Jawmuchener, and is limited to Asia. Obviously this poll wasn't remake-centric, but one of those proposed questions was:
But if it's not Code Veronica X, what video game could it be? Logically one would think of the fourth chapter of the series (even if the actual is already "more modern" than the others) since it could go in order, or a spin-off, or as Outbreak who was the first to have one Multiplayer (although with Resident Evil: Resistance out of the way it might be unlikely), or still it might be Gun Survivor, but repurposed for virtual reality. Capcom has already been involved with the development of Resident Evil 7, so thinking about it would not be nonsense. Unfortunately, at the moment we do not know, but only speculate.
The fact is that modernizing historical video games is always appreciable, especially for the great work that Capcom is doing, yet many fans are starting to hear the need for a new chapter for the franchise, of which it is said could be cross-gen and launched next year. Until there are official communications from those in charge, however, they are only houses of cards.
