Capcom, in recent years, is again focusing strongly on the saga of resident evil after a long period of fogging between 2009 and 2017. Since the release of Resident Evil 7, in fact, the production house has decided to release a title per year belonging to the famous horror series. After the two remakes of Resident Evil 2 e 3, the turn of a new numbered chapter of the series has finally arrived, that is Town which is already causing a lot of discussion among the fans.
But after? There has been talk of a possible remake of the fourth chapter of the series starring several times Leon S. Kennedy, an indiscretion that never became official but more and more probable. The famous leaker Dusk Golem (aka AestheticGamer) via your Twitter account he has declared:
Resident Evil 4 will not be a remaster, but it will be a true remake. A whole new game.
The Resident Evil 4 is not a remaster, it's a completely made from the ground up remake / reimagining. It'll be a new game. https://t.co/5a2SJG9rTu

This remake should significantly expand the story of the original. Also, as easily understood, the gameplay will be modernized, fully recovering from the excellent work done with the remakes of the second and third chapters, which in turn had redone the original Resident Evil 4.
Shinji Mikami, during an interview with IGN a few weeks ago he told his about this possible remake. The director of the original game has stated that he would not be opposed to a completely revised version of the 2005 title, as long as it is a job well done. Speaking of the recent remakes of the series made by Capcom, Mikami said:
I saw a video of Resident Evil 2 Remake and thought it was really great. I think they will continue to make remakes of these games as long as they sell well.
[about the possible Resident Evil 4 remake] As long as it's well done, I have no problem with it.
