Originally launched in 2016 under the name of Beam, this particular service has attracted the attention of the American company since it not only bought it a few months after its launch, but even integrated it into the Xbox division as early as 2017. With the landing of important figures such as the well-known Ninja, in this case even exclusively, mixer it thus seems to enjoy a good success in popularity and ratings but, apparently, the truth is not as it seems.



    Today, in fact, Microsoft announced its intention to officially close Mixer on 22 July 2020. This news has caught many off guard, which is why the company offers a quick and easy transition to Facebook Gaming. According to what they have declared, the collaboration between the two companies will allow different advantages to the people of the comunity who will accept this passage. More precisely we are talking about:

    • Guaranteed partner status for transfer to Facebook Gaming.
    • Level Up program granted of Facebook Gaming to streamers currently monetizing on Mixer. In this way, they will be able keep earning also on this platform. Additionally, Facebook Gaming plans to accelerate onboarding for eligible streamers.
    • Throughout the month of June Mixer streamers will earn doubleMicrosoft encourages viewers to spend all Embers and Sparks on their favorite streamers.
    • Viewers with outstanding Ember, channel subscriptions or MIxer Pro memberships will receive coupons you can spend on the Microsoft Store.

    In addition, the Mixer web page, from 23 July this year, will redirect directly to fb.gg, the transmission from Xbox One will be temporarily disabled and the mobile application will warn viewers of the possibility of being able to continue watching their favorite streamers on Facebook Gaming.
