Little Nightmares: the series may have come to an end

According to what is learned from the recent earnings report published by Embracer Group, parent company of Tarsier Studios, the developers of Little Nightmares are now focused on creation of new IPs. This statement brings down the curtain (at least in the near future) on the splendid horror series consisting of two chapters, the first published in 2017 (here our review) the second, more recent, published last 11 February on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC and Google Stadia (we reviewed it here). This is what Embrace Group stated, translated into Spanish for your convenience:

After the quarter, Tarsier Studios' Little Nightmares 2 game was released and was well received by its audience. From now on, Tarsier's development studies will focus on creating new IPs.

During this video interview the CEO of Embracer, Lars WingeforsSaid:

I'm super thrilled, I spoke to the CEO of Tarsier the other day and congratulated him on the success of Little Nightmares 2. It's their IP, but it's owned by Bandai Namco and published by Bandai Namco, so don't it really has no significant commercial impact for us, although if it works really well it could lead to revenue over time. But I'm super excited that they managed to make a game of this level again, because the first game was very well received and this second chapter felt well received. Now, after creating that game, Tarsier will move on to creating new IPs, and that was the main reason we made this acquisition a little over a year ago.

Tarsier Studios was acquired by Embracer Group in December of the 2019. The development of Little Nightmares 2 had already begun at that time, which is why Embracer allowed Tarsier to complete work on the series owned by Bandai Namco, before turning its efforts towards new IPs.
