Fallout 76: Season 1 begins this week

The much criticized Fallout 76, developed by Bethesda, will see the start of its first season. This "Season One" is called The Legendary Run, and as you can guess from the name, there will be a real competition between the Captain Cosmo e Dr. Zorbo, and all this will be themed board game! In fact, in order to move, players will have to complete quests, as if it were a real roll of the dice. Obviously you will be able to move normally, but the completion of the missions will lead to advancement on the "game table". Since it will all be a sci-fi theme, you can also get space suits, or special consumables that will allow you to collect more experience points. This will start tomorrow, 30nd June, and will end around middle of September.

As all players of the title will know, Fallout 76 has some small challenges daily or weekly that if completed allow you to get certain types of rewards, but with the arrival of Season one these will be used for unlock improvements. Furthermore, it must be remembered that The Legendary Run will be free, except for some bonuses, as specified in a old company twitter.

To clarify, our Seasons in Fallout 76 are going to be free for all our players. We may add extra Fallout 1st bonus rewards in the future, but want to focus on getting Season 1 in game first and seeing your thoughts.

    Sorry for confusion on this.

To clarify, our Seasons in Fallout 76 will be free for all players. We could add some bonus rewards, but we want to focus on seeing Season 1 in game so we know what you think. Sorry for the confusion on this topic.

This detail has also been clarified thanks to a post on the official Bethesda blog, so don't worry, the seasons will be truly free.

As just mentioned, all players will be able to take part in the inaugural summer season for free, which will be introduced with Update 20. All players will have full access to a single and unified progression, meaning that everyone will work towards earning the same rewards for the whole season. [...]

While, in case you don't start the Season together with all the other players, however, you will not be left behind:

If you enter a season late and want to catch up, or just move faster, you can spend 150 atoms and unlock the next rank. It will also be possible to unlock the entire season, but each rank will always be purchased individually and in order. However, with this mode it is not possible to unlock ranks during the first two weeks of a season, so that all players start evenly.

In short, we are now ready to kick off this particular path on the board game. Let the season begin!
