DualSense: Its features will be limited on Steam

DualSense: Its features will be limited on Steam

With the release of PlayStation 5 in some parts of the world (in Europe we will have to wait for the 19st November), many users have already been able to get their hands on the new branded controller Sony, Namely Dualense. The latter, in addition to being obviously the official pad of PlayStation 5, can also be used on Steam although, as revealed by some users on Twitter, such use will be limited. DualSense will be supported by the Steam API, just like the controller of Xbox Series X, but in both cases the functionality of the two pads will be limited, especially as regards the Sony controller:

As expected both new controllers are now supported by the Steam API, the Xbox Series X controller support seems more valid than the DualSense, however deeper support for the latter will also be added, at the moment this is just the beginning and it is still a great way to start using it.

As for these limitations, obviously all the peculiarities related to DualSense are included. Those who use the controller on Steam will not be able to access features such as trackpad, rumble, gyroscope and the adaptive resistance of the triggers. The new PlayStation 5 controller will have like aim to provide greater immersion to anyone who approaches its use, but for the moment this does not seem possible on Steam, which however is working for a complete support that will make these features finally available to players.
