As reported directly from the official website of Diablo 4, the lead system designer, David Kim, revealed many details inherent in the Affixes and on three new stats of the character. One of the elements on which the development team has in fact given greater weight was the desire to make the game deeper and more complex than in the past. To make this clear, the house has decided to increase the number of Affixes present on Magic (blue), Rare (yellow) and Legendary (orange) objects. If you don't know what we're talking about, the Affixes are bonuses that change for each piece of equipment and can only be activated by respecting the established requirements. Below we leave you the new statistics that allow the activation of the Affixes:
- Angelic Power: allows you to increase the duration of beneficial effects such as heals and bonuses
- Ancestral Power: allows you to increase the chances of affecting altered status when attacking
- Demonic Power: allows you to increase the duration of evil effects such as damage that lasts over time and penalties
Furthermore, these powers will be coupled exclusively with weapons and armor of the same "nature", that is to say that the attack bonuses will be present only on the weapons while the defensive bonuses only on the armor. Just as the official post states, this system should make the game philosophy "easy to learn, hard to master".
Instead, the Ancient Legendaries have been eliminated and, by completing some missions and activities once the game is finished, you will have access to a particular consumable that allows you to add an Affix on non-legendary equipment. We remind you, however, that this information, although official, is still under development and therefore could undergo changes just as Kim himself specified.
