Apparently Cooking Mama: Cookstar he's not having a good time. The game has definitely received a dramatic and confusing release to say the least with its immediate removal from some stores, including Nintendo eShop. The reason for this action is linked to some communications made by Office Create, original owner of the series, in which he claims to have never authorized the publication of the title, also questioning the quality of the game and completely detaching himself from it. A dispute has therefore started - currently in progress - on the use of the license by Planet Entertainment LLC, as well as the publisher of Cooking Mama: Cookstar. Below is the official statement:
In August 2018, Office Create licensed Planet to develop the Cooking Mama: Cookstar game for the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, the build quality of the game has failed to meet the standards that our customers expect and deserve. Office Create has rejected a wide range of shortcomings that impact the overall look, quality and content of the game. Office Create was not involved in the development of any Cooking Mama games for PlayStation 4.
Planet continues to advertise and sell an unauthorized version of Cooking Mama: Cookstar on its website in willful infringement of Office Create's rights. To date, Planet has not confirmed the status of the unauthorized version of the PlayStation 4.
While Office Create canceled the Planet license on March 30, the study went ahead and released Cookstar anyway, the statement said. While Planet was obliged to improve the game, according to their contract, Office Create claims that this did not happen. Also, a planned European version of a version PlayStation 4 it was not approved at all.
Fortunately, things are going well at Nintendo thanks also to the new life simulator Animal Crossing: New Horizons, of which updates and news continue to arrive, but also searches for dataminer as you can read in this article.
