COD: Black Ops Cold War, TikToker displays sexist comments from players

An unfortunate event happened in the last few hours, when the famous streamer known as Marie Antoinette on social media, he tried a social experiment on the famous game of Activision, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, showing that he had received - while he was playing - a large amount of comments sexists da part of the game community. The streamer, well known above all on TikTok, pointed out with a small series of videos how many girls are sometimes forced to feel in competitive environments, including video games.

The method used in his experiment was the following; initially tried to get into multiplayer games of the title with random players, a microphone off, playing to the best of his potential. Being a professional player she got it considerable results in a very short time. The scores must certainly have impressed many of the teammates who immediately complimented the "mysterious pro player". Once she achieved enviable scores, however, Marie revealed herself by simply opening the microphone and speaking normally. The answers were initially one of disbelief, only to then turn into a succession of very serious offenses and personal attacks. Below are the excerpts for some of these:

Oh my (god), he's so good,

You can hear it said, before another shouts:

    Duuuude (friendooo)

Brother, this is not ****** real, right?

    then Marie laughs and says:

    It could be…

Marie then recorded and published numerous other clips on TikTok on the most salient moments of other lives, when her teammates discovered that the mysterious pro player is not a "he":

    Why are you so (angry)?

A player asks Marie, and she replies:

    They are not

    Another male voice then says:

Good heavens, I'm uninstalling. I died for a ******* woman.

In a new video, even more offenses:

It must be a **** *****. She is not a pretty ***** who is that good at COD (Call of Duty). If you are pretty, I will be surprised.

In another episode, some players are overly complacent with the streamer:

    She is a girl

Are you a god, can I marry you?

All quite varied examples of attacks, sexist comments or attempts at unsolicited approaches by some players and a specific section of the game community that show that in 2021 there are still serious communication problems and acceptance of the next, even in games as popular as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Similar situations, unfortunately, have tragically become the norm for many girls forced to self-censor and lock themselves up behind a wall of silence, while those who try to break that barrier find themselves forced to suffer personal offenses and attacks, not only in the world of video games but also in many other media.

Also also various videogame projects related to the world perceived as "mystical" of Gamer Girl, have unfortunately been victims of attacks regardless of some people, without first having analyzed with a critical reasoning the qualities and defects of the video game or of the particular product, just because maybe it is focused on female streamers or other. We are well aware that these topics are very hot and complex, but perhaps extreme examples like these are signs of a complex community, obviously not entirely negative, but which in many cases approaches with a method that is absolutely inadequate to the specific situation, which is that of the videogame world.
