In the past hours Bethesda Softworks has communicated, through a post on his official Twitter account, that he has donated one million dollars to various relief efforts to support the fight against the COVID-19. With much of the world forced into isolation, many forced out of jobs and frontline health workers struggling to acquire the supplies they need, donations like these can definitely make a difference.
As reported by the well-known US videogame company, the substantial amount would have been donated to three main entities. Most of the sum ($ 500.000) was assigned to Direct relief, a charity that helps healthcare professionals procure the personal protective equipment they need to do their jobs safely. L'UNICEF, a fund that helps first-line rescuers around the world, has received $ 250.000. Finally, Bethesda plans to donate the last ones $ 250.000 to the local communities in which they live and work. We also remind you that to support the fight against coronavirus, Bethesda Softworks it also participated in the fundraising organized by the gaming industry to support the Red Cross.
Many gaming companies are doing what they can to offer fans entertainment to help them cope with this long period of isolation. To see companies like Bethesda making such a massive donation is really great. Furthermore, we have seen how Humble Bundle has managed to collect well $ 6,5 million to combat the current health emergency, showing that individual players are also doing what they can to support the various funds.
