Netflix confirmed earlier this year that the second season of the TV series dedicated to Geralt of Rivia, the company was secretly working on an anime, titled The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, allowing fans of the books to Andrzej Sapkowski to explore the continent again. At the moment very little information was known about the new production, which will be made by the showrunner of the series Lauren S. Hissrich, Beau DeMayo and from the studio behind the "Legend of Korra“, But fortunately several interesting elements have emerged in the last few hours.
According to what emerged from a tweet from Fandom, the official page Netflix dedicated to The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf would be updated, revealing the duration of the anime film and the alleged launch window. As previously announced, on the occasion of the reveal of the official logo, the film will land on the well-known streaming platform in 2021 and will have one total duration of 1 now and 21 minutes.
While it's unclear what exactly the plot of Nightmare of the Wolf, we should be faced with a prequel film, with Vesemir (Gearlt mentor) as the protagonist, and should draw inspiration not so much from the story told by the videogame counterpart made by the boys of CD Projekt RED, as well as from the events drawn from the books of Andrzej Sapkowski. Waiting to find out the release date of the anime film in 2D, we point out that the works of the second season of The Witcher are officially resumed, after the long Christmas break and the injury of Henry Cavill to the leg, in addition to all the delays due to the health emergency caused by COVID-19.
