Almost all of us have seen or heard of the film directed by Adam McKay entitled "Vice - The man in the shadows”With the extraordinary interpretation of the usual quick-change Christian Bale. However, it seems that the former vice-president of the United States was not entirely enthusiastic. Bale stated what the reaction he received from the former vice-president himself regarding the question of whether he knew if Dick Cheney had seen the film or not:
“He was able to send me a message through third parties. Oddly it was through my son's schoolmates. One of the moms was at a party with him and she said, 'Oh I'll see Christian tomorrow, does he have something you would like me to tell him?' and he replied: "Tell him he's an asshole." I thought she at least had a sense of humor, but the mother in question reiterated that 'there was no humorous tone in her voice' ”.
However, the film met with considerable critical acclaim enough to earn Christian Bale a Golden Globe for Best Actor. During the thanksgiving, the actor even wanted to thank Satan as a source of inspiration for the role. The response of the phantom Church of Satan was also quite swift:
“To us Satan is a symbol of pride, freedom and individualism and serves as an external metaphorical projection of our highest personal potential. And that's fitting, as Mr. Bale's talent and skill earned him the prize. Hail Christian! Hail, Satan! ”.
Christian Bale tells me he finally got a message from Dick Cheney about that portrayal of him in VICE.
