After more than a decade of playing the character of James Bond, Daniel Craig he seems more than ready to leave the role. Talking with Stephen Colbert, during a recent appearance on The Late Show, the actor seemed quite determined not to play the character in the future. At one point during their chat, Colbert explicitly asked the actor if he was "done with Bond", to which Craig replied, "Yes" followed by "It's done". The actor seemed very steadfast with his answer and confident that he could talk about it publicly soon.
Daniel Craig began to take on the role of James Bond back in 2006, in Casino Royale, collecting a total of five films dedicated to the famous MI6 spy (Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Specter). No Time to Die, with release scheduled for the next April 3 2020, will be Daniel Craig's last film as James Bond. So now that the role of the secret agent is vacant, there is a possibility that his co-star in No Time to Die, Lashana lynch, can inherit the role. At the moment, there have been no official statements about Lynch's role in No Time to Die and the Bond franchise, nor has there been any mention of other actors being considered for the role.
