As fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 2020 was a particularly unfortunate year for the House of Ideas, seeing the postponement of many film productions, including the highly anticipated Black Widow, prequel movie where Scarlett johanson will resume (perhaps for the last time) the role of Natasha Romanoff. During a recent interview with Deadline's microphones, Kevin Feige, American film producer and president of Marvel Studios, spoke extensively about the future of the MCU and in particular the film dedicated to the famous Avenger, asserting that at the moment not even he has any idea what fate will befall the film, but reiterated that the company is monitoring all possible alternatives. We report his words in detail:
Don't ask me week by week what's going to happen in this world, I have no idea and don't want to guess. Everything we did at Marvel Studios was based on the idea "Okay, if everything goes perfectly, here's what we want to do". And until last year, things went extraordinarily well. And I hope the world can get back on track and that we can all be back in theaters soon. Until then people will see and experience, week after week, the quality of the content we're bringing to Disney +, given its low monthly fee, and then come back to reunite enthusiastically in real life, sit next to strangers and share new adventures on the big screen.
But that's not all, since the Marvel Studios boxwood has also widely talked about the future of Black Panther 2. As you well know, after the departure of Chadwick Boseman due to colon cancer, the house of ideas has decided not to recast the character and to dedicate the next film to the characters and culture of the Wakanda. Feige claimed that Ryan Coogler is currently writing the script and that in the film will not be present the character of T'Challa not even in CGI. Waiting to find out more details on the upcoming Marvel Studios production, we remind you that at the moment the release in theaters of Black Widow is scheduled for the next 7 Maggio 2021.
