Despite having divided the critics and aroused mixed reactions among the public (here our review), Venom is turning out to be a gold mine for Sony Pictures. The film directed by Ruben Fleischer is collecting staggering figures at the box office. On the American market, the $ 80 million collected during the second is added to the 35,7 million dollars of the opening weekend. Together with these must be counted the proceeds for the rest of the week for a total of 142 million dollars. 
Also in the rest of the world Venom proves to be a box office hit, with $ 235,3 million. The film thus achieved record takings of 378,1 million dollars, taking first place at the world box office for two consecutive weeks. Encouraged by this success, Sony Pictures is now pushing for the making of Morbius: the Living Vampire, with Jared Leto, whose shooting could start as early as February 2019. Sony's projects do not end there: soon a film about Kraven (whose script is already in progress) and one on the Sinister Six. That Venom paved the way for a new one Shared Cinematic Universe Marvel license plate?
