At the virtual panel of Skybound Xpo of this weekend, that is Skybound: Past, Present and Future, the creator of the comic series The Walking Dead Robert Kirkman gave fans an update on the movie dedicated to Rick Grimes who will follow the character played by Andrew Lincoln after his exit from the TV series in the ninth season:
There is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes. I don't want anyone to think we're just waiting for this pandemic to end. I'd say, if nothing else, the pandemic will make the film a lot better […] because we have a lot more time to work on this project to make sure it's perfect. But when things calm down, you guys will have a lot more news on this film.
As you know in the tenth season of The Walking Dead the star Call Out left the series in an episode where his character, Michonne, he found out that Rick may still be alive. Gurira is expected to join Lincoln in the spin-off film. The Walking Dead Season 10 finale never aired due to the pandemic Coronavirus which interrupted the post-production work required to complete the episode.
