Tom Holland recently revealed that he had great difficulty in forgetting his role in Uncharted while filming Spider-Man 3. One of Hollywood's most sought-after young performers has a series of highly anticipated films in his near future, ranging from the stories of video game characters to comics. Two of his most anticipated projects are in fact the adaptation of Uncharted, in which he plays Nathan Drake, and his return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man 3.
The two films took up most of the last few months of Holland's life, even outside the spotlight. After Uncharted closed on the first day of filming from Sony Pictures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film based on the video game of the same name has finally completed production. However, since that time Holland only had three days off before filming for Spider-Man 3 in Atlanta again. The actor recalls that he initially had some difficulty in transitioning from Nathan's posture and general behavior to those of Peter. The discrepancy was noted by the manufacturer Amy Pascal, from Spider-Man 3 director Jon Watts and, finally, from Holland himself:
I was shooting this scene [in Spider-Man 3] where I'm walking into this building, and there's this nice cinematic shot of me from above, and Amy Pascal took me aside and said “Why are you walking like this? ? You are walking like a man; you have to walk like a boy ”. I went back and looked at the monitor, and I could see that I was walking with bravado and confidence. Jon Watts said, “Okay, you're Nathan Drake. We'll change this and get Peter Parker back.
The anecdote the actor shares seems to indicate that the big screen version of Nathan Drake will stage a character with a good deal of confidence in his abilities. Holland has already talked about how he relies on non-verbal language to communicate the differences between his characters, walking loosely and distractedly to make his Peter Parker look younger.
