It looks like the movie on Uncharted and the TV series HBO taken from The Last of Us are just the tip of the iceberg for the department PlayStation Productions newly established by Sony, since Sony Pictures ha ten projects in production based on the gaming intellectual properties of the company. According to the CEO Tony Vinciquerra, talking with CNBC , three of these upcoming new projects will be movies, while another seven will be TV series: “We have a program within the company called One Sony. You will see many more integrations from Sony companies together ”.
It remains to be seen exactly which franchises these unannounced projects will be based on. Horizon Zero Dawn it looks perfect for cinema, but it could prove to be incredibly expensive to make. There have been rumors for years that they have been concerned Twisted Metal which could become a TV show, and we suspect it is one of Sony's agenda projects. Who knows what other intellectual properties are involved in the program One Sony. We will see a project on Bloodborne? A film by Ghost of Tsushima? The series of Ratchet e Clank? Something taken from God of War? Users will certainly not be against this initiative, as long as it does justice to the brands and sagas they have been fond of for years. The Last of Us will almost certainly be a hit, as it involves HBO, and Sony Pictures, it must be said, has been producing some great television shows for years now. We hope that the quality level of the films will remain on the same level, starting with the next feature film dedicated to Uncharted, which will see the young and talented Tom Holland lend your face to the treasure hunter Nathan Drake.
So we just have to wait for the officiality of these new projects to find out which franchises they will be inspired by. We are confident, then, that the next The Last of Us and Uncharted will pave the way for the years to come.
