During the day of May 26, theARF! Festival2019, international comics festival that takes place in Rome, where on the occasion of the talk “Characters as intellectual property. Comics in the Cinema, on the Web, on TV ”there was talk of the beginning of a new one universe under the Bonelli brand.
The first film that will see the light, announced during the Lucca Comics 2018 will be Dampyr, a character created by Mauro Boselli and Maurizio Colombo in 2000 and still the protagonist of a monthly SBE series. The film will be co-produced by Sergio Bonelli Editore, Brandon Box and Eagle Pictures (who will also handle distribution) and sees the screenplay Mauro Uzzeo, Giovanni Masi and Alberto Ostini while the direction was entrusted to Riccardo Chemello, author of several commercials, including Armani and Red Bull, and director of numerous action sports especially parkour themed.
Roberto Proia, of Eagle Pictures said that a second film on Dampyr will also be produced and that a real universe under the Bonelli brand is in the works.
The release of the first film is scheduled for January 23, 2020.
