HBO recently made a number of announcements regarding its future pipeline, and one of the revelations was that Mindy Kaling will play Velma in a new spinoff of Scooby Doo called, precisely, Velma. There is also a new show called Uncanny Valley incoming that follows the story of robots killing their owners and taking control of their identities. Velma is described by HBO as an "animated series of animated comedies for adults" that tells the story of the origins of Velma Dinkley, the smartest member of the much-loved gang. The description reads: "an original and fun version that unmasks the complex and colorful past of one of America's most beloved mystery solvers, executive producer Mindy Kaling will give voice to the titular character." In addition to Velma, HBO has announced a new original series called Orders: Clone High from 21 Jump Street and Phil Lord and Chris Miller of The Lego Movie, along with Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence. A reboot of the original, which brings back the original Clone High writer Erica Rivinoja as showrunner. HBO also announced a new show called Fired On Mars, which is essentially an "existential workplace comedy" set on Mars. Pete Davidson voices the main character of the show that takes place on the campus of a Martian tech company. The second season of Close Enough, a comedy about a married couple, their child and their divorced friends who live together in Los Angeles: "Season XNUMX sees Josh, Emily and the gang continuing to sail into adulthood as they vie for haunted couches, bulbous horses, time-traveling whiskeys and a literal guest from hell - all in their apartment ”.
