In a recent interview granted to CNBC, Phil Spencer spoke in detail about Microsoft's vision of changing the world of gaming and the future, underlining in particular the great importance represented by the Xbox community that has been created over the years. This relevance of the players is what has prompted the company to expand the range of devices on which it is possible to have access to their content and services, and therefore to create Project xCloud. These are the words of Phil Spencer:
We are seeing the big players in technology enter the sector, who see gaming as a great opportunity. We really think that great content, a large community of gamers are needed to achieve success, and we are leveraging our cloud resources to offer our products to people on the devices they already own.
We have a long history, which is why 90 million people on Xbox Live are a very important metric, a community of people looking for their gaming entertainment, looking for those great games, those experiences like Minecraft, as well as great first and third party content on our platform.
We have a great community and cloud resource which is something we are leveraging a lot right now, the partnership between Xbox and Azure is very strong. We have hundreds of thousands of people in our Project xCloud preview.
We remind you that Project xCloud, in beta, will arrive in Spain starting next week, and will give the possibility to play in streaming to 50 different games.
