CD Projekt RED has revealed some of the freely explorable environments outside the confines of the main city in which we will find ourselves wandering within the game; We are talking about Night City and all the external areas that will be explorable.
During the interview with WCCFTech, where the presence of different levels of difficulty was also confirmed, the UI Director Alvin Liu illustrated what kind of settings we might see once outside of Night City:
“Of course, it will be absolutely possible to explore the areas outside the city. You will be able to venture into the California desert to admire things like nuclear power plants, abandoned highways and the like. So yes, the game world will not be limited to Night City at all, which is a really nice place to explore but where, perhaps, it will be rather difficult for you to whiz around its streets in your car or motorbike. However, there will be competitions in which you can participate freely ”.
The question that immediately arises is if these areas will be explored all immediately or if they are linked to narrative obligations (as already seen in The Witcher). Alvin Liu, however, did not go into detail and limited himself to saying only that:
“There will be no invisible walls in the game, or even worse blocks where we will show a message on the screen urging you to go back. It doesn't make sense in such a game, right? It would be a bit like we crossed the street and someone blocked us before we reached the other side, what would be the problem? So no, you will not experience anything like this ”.
We remember the release of cyberpunk 2077 scheduled for April 16, 2020 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
