Over the past few months, the expected E3 2020 has been able to catalyze the hopes of more and more gamers who expected a simply unforgettable fair, with Sony and Microsoft in particular to battle without holds barred with their respective new Next consoles. -Gen. Unfortunately, however, after various rumors and rumors that seemed to indicate the total lack of Playstation at the event, the confirmation that many feared finally came. Sony has in fact made it official that it will not be present at E3 2020, news disclosed by a spokesperson of the company who, taking advantage of an interview with the microphones of GamesIndustry, explained the reason for such a decision. In particular, it was declared:
«After much thought, Sony Interactive Entertainment has made the decision not to participate in E3 2020. We have great respect for ESA as an organization, but we believe that the vision of E3 2020 is not the right place for what to do. we want to focus on 2020. Currently our goal is to shape a specific strategy by participating in hundreds of other consumer events around the world throughout 2020. Our primary goal is to make sure that the fans feel part of the PlayStation family. We have a rich line-up of titles coming to PlayStation 4 and with the arrival of PlayStation 5 we can't wait to experience a new year of great celebrations with our fans ”.
In short, at this point Sony's strategy seems to have revealed itself, a road that does not include E3 2020 - and at this point, not even those that will follow -, a choice that in fact leaves the road once again paved for Microsoft for what, regardless of everything, still remains one of the most followed events in the gaming world. .
