Shortly after the start of the lockdown caused by the Coronavirus epidemic, in our country and in almost all the rest of the world, the main video streaming companies such as Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube but also social networks like Facebook e Instagram have reduced their video quality -in terms of bitrate- in order not to excessively congest the internet and thus allow a good connection to be had by those who really need it. To date, where many countries have now passed the quarantine period and are slowly starting to return to normal, the main companies we mentioned earlier are returning to reproduce a normal signal.
Chief among these is Netflix, where it has recently removed the restrictions in Germany and will soon continue with the other European countries. Although there hasn't been an official statement from the behemoth, the video quality in 4K which is now recorded on the contents is back to being of 15,25Mbps, the maximum rate foreseen by the platform. During the quarantine period, watching movies that supported 4K resolution dropped to 7,62Mbps, the bare minimum in order not to deteriorate the visual quality too much while still guaranteeing viewing with 4K resolution.
Now that many countries have relaxed security measures and therefore allowed many more people to return to work and at the same time the hospitals are no longer overloaded as before, the normality of life is slowly returning to the usual rhythms. Precisely for this reason we believe that Netflix has started broadcasting the original signal of the platform and that very soon it will be back here too.
