Mortal Kombat: the live-action has been postponed to a later date

For just under a year, or since the Coronavirus pandemic began to bend almost the whole world, the entertainment, cinema, video game and many others environment, always used to enjoying meetings and events, has been certainly one of those that has suffered most from the restrictions and bans imposed by almost every country in the world. In particular the cinema, both in terms of production (many films canceled or postponed) and of theaters (even more the cinemas that remained closed or with theaters reduced to a third of the capacity). Last, but only in chronological order, to be added to the large array of films postponed to a later date is the live-action of Mortal Kombat, product based on the videogame universe very famous to all gaming fans.

The film was originally scheduled for January 2021, now around the corner, but due to the slowdown in the works and all the related problems due to Covid-19, the theatrical release has not only been postponed, but has not been fully released, becoming today an orphaned film of a release date. The co-producer Todd Garner he wanted to inform all fans and viewers through a tweet that we report below, where he declares that due to the pandemic many scenes of the film were not shot due to the impossibility of force majeure. Warner Bros., company that owns the rights of the film, at the moment did not want to release any information or teaser of the product, as it no longer has a scheduled release date.

Directed by the rookie Simon McQuoid, the film will feature a cast of actors with expert martial arts skills accompanied by equally experienced professional stuntmen, promising the crudity and pure experience that the game has always been able to give. All that remains is to wait for further news and hope that the launch of the Mortal Kombat film is not too far away.

Well, I thought by the casts' social media you would've figured out we're shooting a few more days. We'd always planned for it & thought we'd do it in March. The pandemic had other plans. We won't have a release date for the movie until theaters re-open. Same for trailer.
