After 5 years from the release of Mad Max: Fury Road, we are ready for a new chapter in the saga. Although there has been talk for a long time about the release of a new episode, the confirmation came only a few days ago. The director George Miller announced that it will be a prequel, based on the life of the Empress Furiosa, before the events known to all. We know that the empress, kidnapped from her place of origin when she was a child, was originally chosen to be one of the wives of Immortan Joe, but was later discarded and enslaved not being able to procreate. Its origins remain dark and hidden, but they will find the light in Mad Max: Furious (unofficial name that could undergo variations).
As for the lead actress, Miller hoped to call again Oscar-winning Charlize Theron, but sadly he was disappointed with advances in de-aging technology. In fact, the casting for her replacement has already begun, despite some rumors about the possibility of seeing Anya Taylor-Joy, already slated for the original role in 2015, on the big screen in the role ofEmpress.
The presence of the director of photography confirmed John Seale and the set designer Colin Gibson (also winner of an award Oscar). There are no certain dates regarding the start of filming. We know that the script has already been completed a long time ago, since Miller claimed to have finished it shortly before the start of filming on Mad Max: Fury Road. Unfortunately, due to the director's various commitments with Three Thousand Years of Longing, whose shooting should have started in the spring but will be postponed due to Covid-19, for Mad Max: Furious we will have to wait a long time. All that remains is to wait for new news and we, as usual, will not fail to keep you updated on developments and all upcoming releases scheduled.
