The third season of Mindhunter, due to contractual forfeiture, it could be at risk. In fact, it seems that the streaming giant, Netflix, let it expire without renewing Mindhunter's cast contracts. The third season of the television series, signed David Fincher, it therefore finds itself in a rather particular context which raises some concern for the future.
Indeed Netflix is positive and optimistic, as the choice to let the contracts with the cast composed by Holt McCallany, Jonathan Groff e Anna torv has a more than logical reason. This is the official statement from Netflix:
“Right now David Fincher is focused on directing his first Netflix job, Mank, and on the second season production of Love, Death & Robots. In the future we believe that he will certainly find space for the realization of the third series of Mindhunter, but at the moment we believe that keeping the entire cast "locked" by a contract without giving them the opportunity to look for other jobs outside is incorrect. "
As written, David Fincher is momentarily engaged in the making of the film Mank, a biography that speaks of one of the greatest screenwriters of recent years who worked on the film Fourth Estate which also earned him the Oscar for the best script. Herman J. Mankiewicz, this the name of the screenwriter, will be played by Gary Oldman; the cast also includes Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Tuppence Middleton and Tom Burke.
Written by his father Jack Fincher, the film will be released on Netflix during 2020.
