Although in the past few months Indiana Jones 5 had lost one of his writers (David Koepp), after that Steven Spielberg has decided to abandon the direction of the film, it would seem that the work in the Lucasfilm house is continuing at full speed. In the past few hours, the US film production house has not only confirmed that Phoebe Waller-Bridge will join the cast of the film, but there will also be the return of John Williams, who will take care of the soundtrack of the film.
It is currently unclear what Phoebe Waller-Bridge's role will be within the film, but we hope to learn more in the coming months. But that's not all, as Mickey's House (via the release of a post on their Twitter account) revealed that the new Indiana Jones 5 will debut in theaters on July 29, 2022, no longer directed by Steven Spielberg (who will remain the film's producer anyway), but by James Mangold (director of Logan). Here are his words:
I am excited to start a new adventure, collaborating with a dream team of great directors of all time. Steven, Harrison, Kathy, Frank and John are all my artistic heroes. I'm sure Phoebe, such a talented actress and a brilliant creative voice, will give the film an edge. I can only feel lucky.
Waiting to learn more about the new adventure dedicated to the famous treasure hunter, which according to a recent tweet by Mangold should take place in the 60s, we remind you that Indiana Jones 5 (still without an official title) the film will see the return of Harrison Ford, who will once again wear the role of Henry Walton Jones and should make his theatrical debut next July 29 2022.
