In the last few hours epic Games has been the center of attention due to its decision to introduce inside versions for Android ed iOS of his famous battle royale, Fortnite, a new in-game payment system. This mode, designed to bypass the processing of payments by theApp Store and avoid the 30% tax on all purchases, it has not been approved by Apple, which he decided to remove the title from its digital store for violation of the guidelines. In the last few minutes it was Epic Games itself, through a post published on the official Fortnite Twitter account, to announce that it has opened a legal case against Apple, due to its monopolistic and unfair behavior against the competition.

Epic brings this lawsuit to end Apple's unfair and anti-competitive actions, undertaken to illegally maintain its monopoly in two distinct, multi-billion dollar markets: the iOS app distribution market and the iOS in-app payment processing market. Epic is not seeking monetary compensation from this court for the injuries it has sustained. Nor is Epic seeking favorable treatment for itself as an individual company. Epic is seeking an injunction to allow fair competition in these two key markets that directly affect hundreds of millions of consumers and tens of thousands, if not more, of third-party app developers. Rather than tolerate this healthy competition and compete on the merits of its offering, Apple responded by removing Fortnite from sale on the App Store, meaning new users won't be able to download the app, and users who have already downloaded its versions. previous versions will no longer be able to update it to the latest version. Apple's removal of Fortnite is another example of how the company uses its enormous power in order to impose unreasonable restrictions and illegally maintain its 100% monopoly on the iOS in-app payment processing market.
Epic Games, in any case, seemed ready for Apple's removal of the title, and officially announced a new short film in the Party Royale of Fortnite, titled Nineteen Eighty-Fortnite and clear reference to an old Apple commercial, used in 1984 to sponsor the release of the Macintosh. At the moment we just have to wait for more information and Apple's response, which could arrive in the next few hours.
Epic Games has defied the App Store Monopoly. In retaliation, Apple is blocking Fortnite from a billion devices.
