After the preview released last month by Entertainment Weekly, The 20th Century Fox recently released the first trailer dedicated to the film Ford v Ferrari. Similar to its predecessor Rush, this new film will also be based on real facts and car racing, telling the story of how Ford wanted to build a racing car capable of tearing up the iconic Ferrari for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1966 - the 34th car marathon which took place between 18 and 19 June at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France.
It is no coincidence, therefore, that the scenes chosen for the official trailer perfectly illustrate the spirit of the film. An eccentric and determined team of American engineers and designers, led by automotive visionary Carroll Shelby (played by Matt Damon) and its British pilot Ken Miles (Christian Bale), are sent by Henry Ford II (Tracy letts) and Lee Iacocca (Jon Bernthal) with the mission to build the Ford GT40, a new racing car that has all the power to outshine Ferrari. The goal is only one: "go to war", as stated precisely in the trailer, and win.
We remember that Ford v Ferrari is directed and co-written by James Mangold, and will be released in theaters on November 15 2019 for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and The 20th Century Fox.
