Anna Megill, previously narrative Lead by Control, the dynamic adventure-style third-person shooter video game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games, revealed that it is heading to the UK office of Playground Games to fill the role of Lead Writer in the new video game of the series Fable, currently under development. Megill herself announced it through a message shared with users through her personal Twitter profile, in which she announced that she will start working on the highly anticipated title starting next year.
Megill is a true veteran of the industry, with more than sixteen years of experience on our shoulders in some of the most famous current development studies, among which we can find Airtight Games, Square Enix, Nintendo, Arkane Studios and ArenaNet. Previously, the author held the role of writer and narrative designer in titles such as Guild Wars 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, as well as the aforementioned Control and its expansion AWE. Prior to that, he had previously worked with The Division developer Ubisoft Massive on their next project, Avatar.
So, I've been giving suggestions on what my next project will be for a while now. I wanted to finalize the details before officially announcing anything. But now that my visa is approved (yay!) And my travel is organized, I can finally communicate it to everyone. I am thrilled to say I start working on
@WeArePlayground next year. I will be the Lead Writer of Fable. Fable holds a special place in my heart. It came out the year I started working as a gamedev, and it's the first game I've played with a developer's eye. I enjoyed understanding the how and why of my story choices, as well as seeing the impact I had on the NPCs around me. But even so, I wasn't sure if this new tale was right for me. I was like "Is it just a bunch of medieval farts jokes?" But the vision of the team's history reassured and excited me. It looks absolutely perfect and I can't wait to get started. I will live in an English country cottage and write fairy tales, you all will. The twelve-year-old me would die of happiness if she knew. Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone! I am really thrilled that many of you are happy with me. I have been fortunate to have some amazing and extraordinarily enticing opportunities this year. Fable looks perfect, and I can't wait to charm you.
