Here I am once again talking about mobile games: Nexon, world leader in portable entertainment, which this time has decided to take the trouble to bring one of the longest-running sagas in history to the small mobile screen. I'm talking about Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed, title that points to free-to-play style action rpg. Here is my test and the result you find at the end of the page!
Stories of Dynasties
Contrary to what one might think, Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed guarantees an excellent story sector, as happens for the saga on the big screen. The main objective seems to be the supremacy of one army over the other, until, however, a common enemy appears that forces the heroes of each faction to unite to defeat this great evil. The long opening video explains all this in detail, seasoning it with names and dates from this specific historical period. Interesting note: we will be able to enjoy the presentation film during the download of the game, useful for those who want to savor the details without an additional waste of time. At the end of the movie we are asked which group to participate in: there are three and they are divided into the most classic of colors, red, blue and green. Each team, as it should be, has both bonuses and peculiar characteristics.
Gameplay of the Warriors
Playing is the focal point of Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed, in fact we will be able to choose different modes ranging from the classic main campaign, to the Challengers (unlockable only after reaching a certain level of account experience), the Battlefield, real timed battlefields, and finally the Conquest system, a very interesting pvp but which requires a stable and fat data connection (I highly recommend using a Wi-Fi connection for this discipline). Returning to the campaign, lhe story unfolds in six chapters, each of which contains from three to four missions, which can be tackled in Normal, Hard or Elite mode for the most daring and experienced. Once our mission has been chosen, we will prepare our team, which will allow us to use three characters: we could in fact interchange the character we are commanding from time to time, perhaps to face a specific enemy, given that from time to time they will be weak to different types of attacks. THEIt will also be possible to call fourth support character who, once his energy bar has been charged, will enter the field for a few seconds, carrying out a support action that can prove decisive (for example by healing the protagonist or inflicting serious damage to adjacent enemies). Once inside, the game controls are those of a classic isometric action rpg: we have a pad on the left and several attacks on the right. Specifically, we have a basic attack button, which if pressed in succession will give rise to different combos. We also find a quick dodge, three special techniques and a final ability. On the left side of the screen we find the health status of the protagonist and his companions. The entry into the field of a teammate is summed up with a strong hit in the area. At the end of each mission we will receive our rewards, such as items, weapons and armor to equip our heroes in addition to the classic character fragments (useful for leveling up our heroes or to unlock new ones). Each weapon and armor can be fused and upgraded to legendary level, changing its shape and power.
Concluding
Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed is a great action rpg for mobile, is not exempt from some flaws here and there: coming from a strongly musou tradition, on the screen we will find several enemies, hordes of simple soldiers who sometimes they will result in frame rate drops even on modern and powerful devices. Sometimes the game is a bit invasive: the information appears on the screen covering and slowing down an action that would instead be fluid and well thought out. In all of this there are beautiful lighting effects and satisfying skills. The animations of the characters are varied and well worked, with a detailed detail regarding the weapons and armor, rich in sumptuous drapes typical of the oriental style. The title is entirely free to play: you can access all game modes without paying a euro but obviously you will have to play a lot and very precisely to unlock all the modes and levels of the characters in good time. Paying a little something, a few euros, you can speed up the system but you will not get a real advantage in terms of power compared to those who play entirely free.
