Changes in the world of Hearthstone are slow, but when they come, they make themselves felt! So today, after the announcement of the new expansion, Madness at the Darkmoon Faire, a new modality has also been introduced: the Duel! What lies behind this new form of entertainment? Well, know that the new mode is simply hilarious. So, let's start by saying that to access it you will have to pre-purchase the new expansion through the Mega-bunble present on the store, which will allow you to access the Duel and the following:
- 5 Gold Packs (each pack will contain five obligatorily gold cards)
- 80 booster packs of the new expansion
- The N'Zoth version of the Warlock skin
- Back of the aforementioned N'Zoth
- Extra for the Battle mode (essential for those who will try their hand in this mode)
- 1 Legendary Golden Random from the new expansion
There is obviously another package, let's say in the "lite" version that guarantees you:
- A random Legendary from the new expansion
- Access to the Duel!
- 45 Envelopes of the new expansion
- The back of N'Zoth
Are you ready for the fight?
Once you log in to Hearthstone and enter Duel mode, you can choose from time to time between 4 random heroes, whose class varies according to what the game offers us. Once this is done, we will be asked to choose one of three Hero Powers (In this early access version, we will only see one Hero Power for each class, the others will arrive later). Once our Power has been chosen, we will have to select a special card, which will “condition” the choices we will make in the game. Now we just have to select fifteen cards from our personal collection, from which the game will pre-select expansions ranging from Classic to the latest release. Each card that we will select can be used in a single copy, a detail that makes the choice we will make interesting especially for the first round of the game. Be careful, however, as once the deck has been selected, it will no longer be possible to modify it. You are ready? Well, once you start, know that you can win twelve challenges or lose three times and you will exit the Duel mode, more or less similar to what happens in the Arena mode.
In the first fight, we will start the game with 20 life points, contrary to what happens with the Ranked mode that starts from 30 health points: whether you win or lose, we will be asked to choose an upgrade consisting of an artifact of your choice out of 3 displayed; there are all kinds of them and they are typically passive powers that perform predetermined actions, for example a card might tell you "At the beginning of the game draw an extra card!". After choosing, we move on to the increase of our cards, being able to choose between three cards divided into three groups, so as to strengthen our deck according to the strategy we want to adopt. At the beginning of each new round, our life punishments will increase by five from time to time, allowing us to fully enjoy the mode.
According to what was announced, there will be two modes, the first free which will allow you to practice and the second for a fee, called Heroic Duel; at the moment this version is not accessible but we assume that it will have a cost similar to what we saw in the Arena, perhaps payable in gold (the currency of Hearthstone) or with money by credit card or credit on your account Blizzard. If you log in from now on you will be given the legendary card as a gift Silas Darkmoon, protagonist of the expansion! Below is the gallery of images.
