Deadpool 2, like its predecessor, it is an irreverent film: this spirit does not only keep it in its history, but also in the way the film was shot. According to director David Leitch, the film has so many easter eggs that no fan will be able to discover them all after the first viewing. Of all, however, the most curious remains a cameo kept secret until today, or at least until the release of the Home Video content: the presence of Matt Damon.
ATTENTION, SPOILERS!
When Cable returns to the present and meets two guys who are able to discuss whether or not it is hygienic to use toilet paper or wet wipes, one of the two actors immediately catches the eye: let's talk about Alan Tudyk (Firefly). The other, on the other hand, covered with make-up and various types of prostheses, is his Matt Damon! Thus disguised, not even the staff had recognized him during the shooting, and to hide it as best he could, the actor is not even included in the credits.
The scene was written by Rhett Reese, a firm believer in wet wipes, and when Reynolds proposed it to Damon, he didn't even think he would accept (but perhaps, given the cameo in Thor: Ragnarok, he might like it a lot). But the easter egg also has an easter egg! Matt Damon's character is described as Dickie Greenleaf, who also has the character of Jude Law in Mr. Ripley's Talent, where Damon himself steals this identity.
