Amazon Games e Relentless Studios officially present Crucible, a free-to-play third-person shooter, which promises to have a tactical shooter imprint, a genre that has been experiencing great growth for some years: just look at the success of Overwatch at the time, or the more recent Valorant developed by Riot Games, or Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege. The new title will focus heavily on PvP arenas, but it will not preclude the PvE mode, in fact there will be some that will allow players to take down aliens driven by artificial intelligence, then arriving at the more classic Capture The Flag. In PvP, on the other hand, the team that reaches i first will win 100 points. As for the in-game progression, there will be a level up system to Overwatch, then disconnected from the single character.
The shooter began to take its first steps in development well 6 years ago, in 2014, and was formally announced during the TwitchCon two years later. From then on everything seemed to go smoothly, until recently, when Amazon said in a report that the stock would be moved from March to April due to the Coronavirus, finally being postponed to May.
On the official Steam page you can see that Crucible is out on 20 Maggio 2020, along with many images and a gameplay video. We just have to wait for the date to download and try the title, hoping that sooner or later it will also arrive on consoles.
