Coronavirus: Filming resumes in the UK

While the UK seems to start to unlock following the arrival of the Coronavirus, film and television productions have been officially authorized to resume within the country. While some analysts warn the UK is facing a danger, the country is keen to restart the same industry that last year brought the country well 3,6 billion of pounds.

The new guidelines developed by the British Film Commission and from British Film Institute have recently been approved by the UK government and health agencies, thus giving the green light to productions, as long as they comply with the restrizioni related to Coronavirus. The list of discontinued productions in the UK is extensive, including particularly well-known films and TV series such as The Batman (which seems ready to resume) and the second season from the Netflix series of The Witcher. Warner Bros was also producing a third Fantastic Beasts film, while Disney was shooting an action film within the UK.

Recall that film production around the world has stopped following the arrival of the pandemic, although some productions will resume shortly. The Avatar sequel will look to continue filming in New Zealand, with the select cast and crew arriving in the country on May 31 to begin a mandatory two-week quarantine.
