After a long period of silence, the Sci-fi RPG starring a fierce red panda, Biomutant, finally has a launch window. The independent team of experiment 101 he had already reassured the players in November 2020, stating that the development of Biomutant was at an advanced stage and that it was proceeding at full speed. Today, through an interview with Games Industry, Klemens Kreuzer, CEO of THQ Nordic, has in fact confirmed that Biomutant will reach the market in the first quarter of 2021, calling it "a publication of great importance for his company".
The open world adventure has been defined by Kreuzer as a “post-apocalyptic tale of Kung Fu”, set in a world populated by anthropomorphic animals. Unfortunately, however, in the long interview the CEO did not indicate a specific date, but the fans can rest assured: the developers have imposed how deadline 31 March 2021, and therefore we will most likely get our hands on the title before that date. Biomutant is an open world RPG with a strong action component inspired by titles like Devil May Cry (you can switch between firearms and swords of all kinds), an in-depth editor of the furry protagonist and a structure that recalls The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with objectives scattered around the map and completed in the order you prefer. Experiment 101 guys do not have a long experience behind them, but from what we have seen so far this Biomutant promises to be a decidedly interesting title, with all the potential to fit into an ever-expanding action RPG market. So we just have to wait a few more months to find out if their first big title will deliver on its promises.
