The world of video games does not live only on IP created from scratch, in fact very often licenses are acquired that allow software houses to make titles based on films, anime, books and much more. In recent years the phenomenon has become increasingly widespread, especially when it comes to superheroes, which thanks in particular to The Marvel movies and its MCU they are experiencing a second youth even more brilliant than in the past. Often, however, the combination of video games / films, the so-called tie-in (that is, an entertainment production taken from a different work on regular concession of copyright) have been repeatedly badly made or even real disasters. We hardly find on store shelves a video game about our favorite superhero that is worth playing, most of the time the fan base factor takes over and what is objectively a mediocre title in our eyes turns out to be a beautiful game. However, there are those who have been producing a series of video games based on Batman that, chapter after chapter, always turn out to be really well made and enjoyable (except for Batman: Arkham Knight PC version which lived not exactly happy days before the relaunch) not only by those who love their favorite, but by all those who seek an action title, with a well-characterized character who knows how to entertain.
Rocksteady Studios, since he put his hand on the first chapter of the new saga entitled Batman: Arkham Asylum, it turned out to be a really good developer house, able to know how to create a title curated in every aspect. This is then followed up Batman: Arkham City e Batman: Arkham Knight (in the middle we can find another chapter entitled Batman: Arkham Origins developed by Warner Bros. Games Montréal). All four episodes, some more or less, turned out to be great video games that have been able to keep up the value and honor of an iconic character like that of Bruce Wayne on all various game consoles. So what will the future of the saga be?
To date we know that a new and mysterious chapter is in the works, but what has emerged on this fifth chapter that could continue the saga Arkham directly on next generation consoles? Almost 5 years have passed since the last appearance, and the expectation as well as the rumors continue to increase.
Capture the Knight
First we could talk about the title, which appears to be "Batman: Arkham Legacy" although some insiders lean towards a change in progress. In fact, it seems that initially the project had this name and was then changed at a later time due to still unknown reasons. The main character of this new adventure may not only be our batman but the whole Bat-familia composed by Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing and all the others, intent on fighting against it the Court of Owls: the antagonists of this new adventure created in 2011 by Scott Snyder to further enrich the comic book adventures of the character. In the meantime, Warner Bros. Games Montréal has enjoyed in recent months releasing cryptic and incomplete images on social networks, like the ones you can see below:
In the example shown you can see the left icon, released early, depicting part of what is now the police department of Gotham City, while in the following one, always published on the official page on Twitter, is even more cryptically represents the League of Assassins led by Ra's al Ghul:

Both logos were then placed inside another image that contains not only these two, but eight other empty slots ready to be occupied by as many logos that close the circle of this mysterious "treasure hunt". Probably, just when the mosaic is completed, Warner Bros. will officially announce the new and mysterious Batman title.
As we said earlier the title followed by Batman: Arkham Knight it has been expected for almost 5 years now. Precisely this long wait has led many insiders to hypothesize a final release on the next generation consoles. To date, in fact, we do not know for sure if the title will be current-gen, next-gen or even cross-gen (but probably the latter), and its absence at the The Game Awards 2019, widely predicted but never occurred, suggests a greater temporal need precisely because of the development on machines not really known as PlayStation 5 e Xbox Series X, without forgetting the fledgling platform Google Stadia.
Unfortunately, the rumors circulating on the new chapter dedicated to the dark knight of the DC Comics there aren't many. Everyone, or almost everyone, was waiting for the officialization during the TGA 2019 but we had to change our mind, yet the same voice actor of the protagonist of the adventures of Batman: Arkham Origins, Roger Craig Smith, wrote the following sentence a few hours before the ceremony:
“Keep your eyes and ears open for tonight's The Game Awards 2019! There is something I have cooked for you ... "
Those who have followed the event know that the famous dark knight never appeared during the three-hour awards ceremony. A sign, as we said before, that the game is still not presentable in the best way. We therefore look forward to the reveal of the title as soon as possible. The adventures of the bat man are ready to be known and rediscovered once again.
