The brand resident evil has been back in the limelight in recent times and, with its three releases over four years and a film coming soon, the famous survival horror series has entered a second golden age. The future looks even brighter, with the upcoming release of the eighth chapter, Resident evil village. However, it appears that its sequel, Resident Evil 9, is already in development, as well as the remake of Resident Evil 4.

Recently on Twitter, the well-known insider and habitual Resident Evil leaker, AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, stated that Resident Evil 9 and Resident Evil 4 Remake are already in development. The insider tells us that the ninth chapter is still quite far from launch, and that could come out in 2024. Apparently, Capcom he would be working on the two titles since 2018. It is possible that, at this stage, Resident Evil 9 (or as Capcom will eventually call it) is in an embryonic pre-production stage. It is clear by now that Capcom wants to keep one annual frequency for the release of Resident Evil games, therefore it is plausible that several main chapters of the series are in development at the same time.
We know that the next chapter, Resident Evil Village, will contain many intense and scary scenes, as reported by the game director himself, Morimasa Sato, during a recent interview: "As you know, one of the central themes of the Resident Evil franchise is horror, the ability to generate fear, and I would simply warn you not to think that what you have seen so far can allow you to relax from this point of view. In terms of horror content, you will find a lot of intense and scary scenes in the game, but we have chosen to let you experience them for yourself! ”Said Sato. It therefore seems that, once Village is released, Capcom will soon release the ninth chapter and the remake of the fourth, which has been rumored for some time.
