Robert Altman, co-founder of the parent company of Bethesda, Zenimax, president and CEO of the company, unfortunately passed away. Bethesda used its social channels to break the sad news and to express its condolences to Altman's family, as well as to celebrate his memory:

We are very heartbroken to report the death of Robert A. Altman, our founder and CEO. He was a true visionary, a friend, he believed in the spirit of people and what they could be able to do together. He was an amazing leader, and an even better human being. During the pandemic, Robert sent an email every week to keep in touch with everyone in the company. We were all waiting for these messages and thought we'd share one with you: ”To the Zenimax family, last week I talked about some little pleasures I discovered as a lockdown product. Some of you have written to me to share your experiences and describe other little joys that WFH brings. THE growing numbers of bird songs in our backyards, quieter streets, adventurous efforts to bake bread and mix cocktails, long walks, time to read. While we clearly lack social interactions we have gained something of value. we know that many feel the pressure of isolation and stress, again I invite you to make time for yourself every day (...) "
After working as a lawyer for a long time, Altman partnered with the founder of Bethesda Christopher Weaver starting from 1999 for the realization and foundation of the Zenimax company, which in addition to the internal Bethesda studios it also owns Arkane, the makers of Dishonored, id Software, developers of Doom, MachineGames (Wolfenstein) and Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within). Altman leaves behind his wife, Lynda Carter, and two children. The thoughts of the Resources4Gaming editorial team go out to his family and friends.
