A little less than a month after the debut of Xbox Series X e Series S in our country, in the past few hours interesting details have emerged regarding the dashboard and the game interface of the next-gen console of the Redmond house. According to the recent words of John Linneman, well-known Digital Foundry journalist, the Xbox Series X user screen would have a resolution of 1080p, just like Xbox One X. We report in detail what has been said:
[John Linneman] Well, the big problem for me, more than anything else, with the Xbox dashboard is its low resolution. I was disappointed that Xbox One X only offered a 1080p UI rendering, when PS4 Pro was using native 4K, but that the UI still runs at 1080p even on Series X… that's really unacceptable.
[Jeff Grubb] The XSX UI runs at 1080p right now, but the embargo specifically says don't dwell on dashboard elements because it's not final and will be updated before launch. If it was still 1080p, it would be frustrating.
This is certainly news that will make many turn up their noses, given that "the most powerful console in the world" is perfectly capable of supporting 4K, but it cannot be ruled out that Microsoft products run for cover and decide to improve the resolution of the dashboard and the game interface before the launch of the new generation consoles (news released later by the same Jeff Grubb), as Sony has confirmed in the past few hours that the PlayStation 5 UI will run in Ultra HD. Waiting to find out more details on the new peripheral of the Redmond house, we remind you that Xbox Series X e Series S they will be available for purchase starting from the next November 10 2020, respectively at the price of 499,99 € e 299,99 €.
