For a few hours we have finally learned the official and definitive technical characteristics of Xbox series X, the new and future home console Microsoft products which will rival, for the ninth generation of consoles, with the rival Sony PlayStation 5. After a couple of hours, Microsoft begins to release some interesting features of the new machine in terms of functionality. What you can see in the video at the bottom of the article is in fact one of the new features of the Xbox Series X called Quick Resume.
What is it about? Basically this is what we already do with our smartphones when we open more apps in progression, without ever closing them, and "switch" from one to the other without having to reload it from scratch. The operation that you can see in the video does neither as much nor as much, with the only difference that it is not simple smartphone applications that run, but multiple games at the same time. It is indeed possible to see how the proof shows us State of Decay 2, Forza Motorsport 7, Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice, Ori and the Blind Forest e The Cave all of them opened one after the other without first having to close the game session to start another one. Not only that, it is in fact possible to return to where we previously left a Forza Motorsport 7 race following a platform phase in Ori and the Blind Forest or vice versa.
It seems that Xbox Series X is able to withstand up to 4/5 open games and guarantee a transition from one session to another in just about 6 seconds. In short, being able to pause a game without having to close it and switch to a different title, and then go back and vice versa, will certainly be a feature that is really appreciated by the end user.
